If you don’t have Google Play (Huawei, older devices, etc.)

Section titled “If you don’t have Google Play (Huawei, older devices, etc.)”
  1. Download the APK: HAPP.apk
  2. On your phone, open a file manager
  3. Find the downloaded file (usually in Downloads)
  4. Tap it to install
  5. Android may ask for permission — tap Install anyway or Install
  6. Once installed, tap Open
  1. Open Telegram on your phone
  2. Find @SideLinQ_bot
  3. Tap “Connect”
  4. The bot sends you a long key that starts with happ://
  5. Long press the key and tap Copy — or use the copy icon if shown
  1. HAPP is open on your phone
  2. Look for a + button at the bottom
  3. Tap + Add Configuration
  4. Tap Paste (it should auto-paste your key from clipboard)
  5. Review the settings that appear (optional)
  6. Tap Save or Confirm

HAPP now shows your list of available servers. It picks the best one automatically.

  1. Find the power button (⏻) on the HAPP screen
  2. Tap it
  3. HAPP may ask for permission to “Create a VPN connection” — tap Allow
  4. Watch the status change to Connected
  5. A VPN icon appears in your Android status bar (at the top of the screen)

That’s it. All apps on your phone now use SideLinQ.

When you first connect, Android asks for permissions. Here’s what each does:

  • VPN access — Required for the connection to work. This is normal.
  • File access — To import/export configurations (optional)
  • Device location — To show which server is closest to you (optional)

You can allow or deny optional permissions. The VPN access permission is required.

  1. Open a web browser
  2. Go to whatismyipaddress.com or ipleak.net
  3. Your IP should show a different country
  4. Before connecting, visit the same site and compare — your real IP will be different

Tap the power button (⏻) again. The VPN icon in your status bar disappears.

  1. In HAPP, tap the name of the current server
  2. Choose a different location
  3. HAPP reconnects automatically

By default, all apps use SideLinQ. Some devices let you choose per-app in Android settings, but this is rarely needed.

Try this:

  1. Long-press the key in Telegram
  2. Tap “Copy” directly
  3. Switch back to HAPP and paste

Or use the manual method:

  1. In Telegram, tap the three dots (⋯) on the bot’s key message
  2. Copy it from there

Try a different server:

  1. In HAPP, tap the server name at the top
  2. Switch to a server in a different region
  3. See if it’s faster

This usually means:

  • Weak WiFi: Move closer to your router
  • Mobile data switching: Try WiFi-only for now
  • Too many apps running: Close some apps and try again
  • HAPP version is old: Check for updates in Google Play

Try restarting HAPP: Disconnect, wait 3 seconds, tap the power button again.

Some phones (especially ones with custom ROMs) kill background apps to save battery. To prevent this:

  1. In Android Settings → Apps → HAPP
  2. Look for “Battery optimization” or “Background restrictions”
  3. Set HAPP to “Don’t optimize”

That’s expected — you are. Some sites (streaming services, banks) may limit access. If this happens, contact support on Telegram.
