Troubleshooting

Try these first — they solve 80% of issues.

  1. Restart HAPP completely

    • Close/Quit the app
    • Wait 5 seconds
    • Open it again
    • Try connecting
  2. Switch servers

    • In HAPP, change to a different server location
    • Reconnect and test
    • Sometimes a specific server is overloaded
  3. Restart your device

    • Reboot your phone or computer
    • Open HAPP and try again
  4. Check your internet works

    • Turn off HAPP
    • Test that regular internet works (open a website)
    • If regular internet is broken, that’s the problem (not SideLinQ)
  5. Check your subscription

    • Open the Telegram bot @SideLinQ_bot
    • Check your subscription status (menu → “My subscription”)
    • If it expired, renew it
    • Get a new key and re-import it into HAPP

This usually means your key expired or the server isn’t responding.

  1. Get a fresh key

    • Open @SideLinQ_bot
    • Press “Connect” to get a new key
    • Copy the new key
    • Delete the old config in HAPP
    • Import the new key
    • Try connecting again
  2. Try a different server

    • In HAPP, switch to another location
    • Different servers sometimes have better paths to the internet
  3. Check DNS

    • The problem might be DNS resolution, not the VPN connection
    • Try visiting an IP-based site (e.g., 8.8.8.8 or restart your router)

Your connection is unstable. Try these fixes:

  1. For WiFi users

    • Move closer to your router
    • Restart your WiFi router
    • Try switching to 5GHz WiFi (if available)
    • Disable WiFi and use mobile data instead
  2. For mobile data users

    • Check your signal strength (do you have bars?)
    • Try switching WiFi networks if available
    • Move to a different location with better coverage
  3. App-specific

    • Close other apps using heavy bandwidth (streaming, downloads)
    • Restart HAPP
    • Try a different server with better ping/latency
  4. Device-specific

    • Check available storage (if almost full, performance drops)
    • Restart your device
    • Update HAPP to the latest version
  1. Copy the key correctly

    • In Telegram, long-press the entire key
    • Tap “Copy” (not just selecting it)
    • Don’t cut off any part
  2. Try pasting into a text editor first

    • Open Notepad or TextEdit
    • Paste the key there
    • If it’s incomplete, try copying again from Telegram
    • If complete, copy from the text editor back to HAPP
  3. Manual entry (last resort)

    • If paste won’t work, try typing the key manually (not practical for long keys)
    • Better: Use a computer instead if you’re on mobile, or vice versa

Speed issues usually mean:

  1. Wrong server choice

    • In HAPP, check the “Ping” or “Latency” value for each server
    • Pick the server with the lowest ping (closest to you)
    • Connect to that one
  2. Your internet baseline is slow

    • Disconnect from SideLinQ
    • Test your regular internet speed (speedtest.net)
    • If it’s already slow, SideLinQ won’t fix that
  3. Network congestion

    • Time of day matters (peak hours = slower speeds)
    • Try in the middle of the night or early morning
    • Try a server in a different region
  4. Your WiFi is weak

    • Disconnect from VPN temporarily
    • Test regular WiFi speed
    • If WiFi itself is slow, move closer to router or switch to mobile data

Website says “IP blocked” or “too many connections”

Section titled “Website says “IP blocked” or “too many connections””

Some sites detect and limit VPN connections. Try:

  1. Switch to a different server

    • That particular server may be flagged
    • Choose another location
  2. Temporarily disconnect

    • Use the site without SideLinQ
    • Reconnect after
  3. Contact the website

    • Some sites will whitelist legitimate users
    • Explain you’re a real person using legitimate privacy tools

Can’t access a specific service (bank, streaming, etc.)

Section titled “Can’t access a specific service (bank, streaming, etc.)”

Some services actively block VPN:

  1. Try a different server

    • Sometimes one server IP is on a blocklist, another isn’t
  2. Contact that service’s support

    • Explain you’re having issues
    • They may provide an exception or workaround
  3. Pause SideLinQ for that service only

    • Disconnect from HAPP temporarily
    • Use the service
    • Reconnect when done

HAPP says “VPN not responding” or similar error

Section titled “HAPP says “VPN not responding” or similar error”

This means the server isn’t reachable:

  1. Get a new config key

    • Open the Telegram bot
    • Press “Connect” for a fresh key
    • Import it into HAPP
  2. Switch servers

    • Try a different location in HAPP
  3. Check internet connectivity

    • Temporarily disconnect from HAPP
    • Test that your regular internet works
    • Reconnect to HAPP
  1. Reinstall HAPP

    • Uninstall the app
    • Restart your device
    • Reinstall from App Store/Google Play/GitHub
    • Import your key again
  2. Check for updates

    • Open your app store (Play Store, App Store)
    • Update HAPP to the latest version
    • Try opening it again
  3. Device storage

    • Check you have enough free space (at least 100MB)
    • If almost full, delete some files
    • Restart device
    • Try again

”Permission denied” or “Unauthorized” errors

Section titled “”Permission denied” or “Unauthorized” errors”

Your key might be invalid or expired:

  1. Get a new key

    • Open @SideLinQ_bot
    • Check your subscription status
    • Get a new key
    • Delete the old one from HAPP
    • Import the new one
  2. Check your subscription

    • Has it expired?
    • Renew it in the bot
    • Get a fresh key
  3. Recent account changes?

    • If you changed Telegram or account info, you may need a new key
    • Get one from the bot

If nothing above works:

  1. Gather info

    • Your device type (iPhone, Windows, Android, Mac)
    • HAPP app version (check in HAPP settings or app store)
    • When it started happening
    • Exact error message (screenshot it)
    • A short description of what you tried
  2. Contact us

  3. Response time

    • Support usually replies within hours
    • Community members may reply faster
