System requirements
Section titled “System requirements”- macOS 10.13 or newer (Sierra, High Sierra, and newer)
- Intel or Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2, M3, etc.)
- Active iCloud account (to download from App Store)
- Telegram app or web.telegram.org
Download HAPP
Section titled “Download HAPP”macOS version comes from the App Store under your iCloud account:
- Russian account: HAPP Proxy Utility Plus
- All other regions: HAPP Proxy Utility
The app is universal for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
Installation
Section titled “Installation”- On your Mac, open the App Store
- Search for “HAPP” (or click the link above)
- Click Get then Install
- Authenticate with your iCloud password or Apple ID
- Wait for the download to complete
- The app appears in Applications folder and your Dock (optionally)
- Click Open or double-click HAPP in Applications
macOS might ask for permission to run this app on first launch — click Open.
Get your connection key
Section titled “Get your connection key”- On your Mac (or phone), open Telegram
- Find @SideLinQ_bot
- Press “Connect”
- You’ll see a long key starting with
happ://crypt5/ - Click to select the entire key, then Cmd+C to copy
Import the key into HAPP
Section titled “Import the key into HAPP”- HAPP is open on your Mac
- Click the + button (or “Add Configuration”)
- Click Paste from Clipboard
- The app auto-detects your key and shows configuration
- Click Save or Confirm
HAPP now shows available servers with their latency (ping). It picks the best one automatically.
Connect to the network
Section titled “Connect to the network”- In HAPP, find the power button (⏻)
- Click it
- macOS asks for permission: “HAPP wants to create a VPN connection” — enter your Mac password and click OK
- Watch the status change to Connected
- A VPN icon may appear in your menu bar
Every app on your Mac now uses SideLinQ.
Verify it’s working
Section titled “Verify it’s working”- Open a web browser
- Go to whatismyipaddress.com
- Your IP should show a different country
- Compare this to your real IP (before connecting) — they should be different
Managing your connection
Section titled “Managing your connection”Pause the connection
Section titled “Pause the connection”Click the power button (⏻) again. Your real IP becomes visible.
Reconnect
Section titled “Reconnect”Click the power button again.
Switch servers
Section titled “Switch servers”- In HAPP, click the server name
- Choose a different location
- It reconnects automatically
Monitor connection stats
Section titled “Monitor connection stats”In HAPP, you can see:
- Current server and location
- Ping time (latency)
- Current upload/download speed
- Connection duration
Exit completely
Section titled “Exit completely”Click the HAPP menu → Quit HAPP (or Cmd+Q). Your connection ends immediately.
Advanced options
Section titled “Advanced options”Change keyboard shortcut
Section titled “Change keyboard shortcut”Some HAPP versions let you set a keyboard shortcut to toggle connection. Check HAPP preferences.
Auto-start on login
Section titled “Auto-start on login”To start HAPP automatically when your Mac boots:
- System Preferences → General → Login Items
- Click the + and select HAPP
- HAPP will launch whenever you log in
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”HAPP won’t import the key
Section titled “HAPP won’t import the key”Try these:
- Make sure you selected and copied the entire key (starts with
happ://and ends with/) - Try pasting into a text editor first to verify it copied
- Copy it again from Telegram
- Paste into HAPP
Connected but no internet
Section titled “Connected but no internet”Try this:
- Disconnect the VPN (power button off)
- Wait 3 seconds
- Reconnect
- Test a website
If still broken:
- In HAPP, switch to a different server
- Reconnect
Very slow speeds
Section titled “Very slow speeds”This is usually a server choice issue:
- Click the server name in HAPP
- Notice the “ping” number for each server
- Choose a server with lower ping (closer to you)
- Reconnect and test again
If even the fastest server is slow, contact support.
Connection drops randomly
Section titled “Connection drops randomly”Causes:
- Weak WiFi — Move closer to your router
- Network switch — If you switch between WiFi and Ethernet, HAPP may disconnect. Reconnect manually.
- Sleeping Mac — When your Mac sleeps, HAPP disconnects. It resumes when you wake it up.
- HAPP is outdated — Check the App Store for updates
To prevent drops:
- Keep WiFi/network stable
- Keep HAPP updated
- Don’t let your Mac sleep while using SideLinQ
It says “VPN not responding”
Section titled “It says “VPN not responding””Try:
- Disconnect and reconnect
- Restart your Mac
- Switch to a different server in HAPP
- If it persists, check your Telegram subscription status (may have expired)
Some sites block me
Section titled “Some sites block me”Certain services (Netflix, some banks) may limit access via VPN. If this happens:
- Try a different server (sometimes specific servers are less detected)
- Temporarily disconnect from SideLinQ to use that service
- Contact support if it’s a critical service
