What if I used a VPN before? Can I keep my files?

Section titled “What if I used a VPN before? Can I keep my files?”

SideLinQ doesn’t store files on servers. You just get internet access through HAPP. Any files you had are still on your computer/phone — this just changes how you connect.

HAPP is the lightweight client app that creates a secure connection to SideLinQ. You install it on your device, paste in your config key, and tap to connect. It works on Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone, and even routers. HAPP automatically updates your server list, so you never worry about manual config changes.

SideLinQ works on:

  • Windows (XP and newer)
  • Mac (Intel and Apple Silicon)
  • Android (4.0 and newer)
  • iPhone/iPad (iOS 12 and newer)
  • Routers (DD-WRT, OpenWrt, and others)

See platform-specific guides for details.

What about speed? Will everything be slow?

Section titled “What about speed? Will everything be slow?”

Speed depends on which server you’re connected to. HAPP automatically picks the fastest available server for your location. Most users report normal browsing speeds. Streaming works fine, as does video calls and gaming. You won’t notice a difference with a good server.

Yes. SideLinQ uses VLESS+Reality protocol, which provides military-grade encryption. Your internet provider, WiFi network, and ISP cannot see what websites you visit or what data you send. Only the destination site (like YouTube or your bank) sees your connection — but they can’t trace it back to your real location.

No. The SideLinQ servers are part of the encrypted tunnel. We cannot see what you do online, where you browse, or what you type.

Traditional VPN protocols (OpenVPN, WireGuard) have recognizable patterns that government-level filters can detect and block. VLESS+Reality looks identical to normal HTTPS traffic — the same protocol your bank uses. There’s no signature to block without breaking all of the internet.

  1. Get your referral link from the bot (Menu → “Referral”)
  2. Share it with friends
  3. Your friend gets 7 days free (instead of 3) on their first sign-up
  4. You earn 30% of their first payment and 10% of all future payments
  5. Your referral balance can be used for your own subscription or withdrawn

All official updates, new server locations, and maintenance notices go in the @SideLinQ Telegram channel.

HAPP automatically reconnects. Just wait a few seconds. If it keeps dropping, try:

  • Turn HAPP off and on
  • Restart your device
  • Switch to a different server in HAPP (tap the server name to change it)

Make sure:

  • You copied the entire key (it starts with happ:// and is quite long)
  • You’re not copying extra spaces or line breaks
  • Try pasting it into a text editor first to verify

This is usually because:

  • Some websites block known VPN services (this is rare with SideLinQ)
  • Your ISP is blocking the app itself (reconnect and try again)
  • DNS issues (restart HAPP and toggle your WiFi)

See Troubleshooting for solutions.

Using SideLinQ is legal in most countries. It’s a privacy tool, like HTTPS on your bank’s website. However, some countries have restrictions on VPN usage. Always check your local laws.
